PRODUCTION PROCESS

HMR Helmets® is the result of the experience gained over the years by Hammer Srl as a manufacturer of ski helmets.
Under the leadership of a single owner, Giuseppe Rizzitiello, and his family, it operates as a high-quality artisanal company that respects the ethical standards and social responsibility that define it.

Molding

The outer shells made of composite fibers (fiberglass, carbon, and Kevlar) are crafted through a meticulous process; they are made of hand-layered composite, combining diverse layers of carbon fiber and Kevlar that are vacuum-molded/cured in an autoclave in a controlled environment. The use of these innovative composite materials and manufacturing processes results in a top-tier product with lightweight and strength characteristics that are unique on the market. High-quality, certified, and approved epoxy resins are used.

The thermoplastic outer shells are made through a complex melting process where a set of polycarbonate polymers are perfectly combined and then molded inside special injection molds.

The inner shell is made of polystyrene, produced through a high-temperature steam molding process.

The visors are molded and then treated with strictly anti-scratch processes.
All products comply with product homologation standards within the quality production process.

Painting and decals

The outer shell is painted and treated with a UV filter in compliance with not only the highest quality standards; the company’s production ethics include environmental protection by using only water-based paints.
The decals are applied entirely by hand, giving every HMR Helmets helmet a strong and recognizable design, while maintaining the high standards of an artisanal manufacturing company for high-end production.

Stitching and Assembly

The internal padding is made with innovative materials that guarantee maximum breathability and comfort. The stitching is done by expert hands, ensuring excellent comfort and fit.
The final product is thus characterized by great quality and attention to detail, typical of Italian handmade goods.

The careful assembly of the various parts that make up each HMR Helmets helmet takes place along the assembly lines.
Before and during this process, which is performed entirely by hand by specialized personnel, every single component is meticulously checked and potentially discarded even if the slightest imperfection is found.

Quality tests

During the various phases of material and component production, items are subjected to quality tests where technical material specifications are verified, optical tests are performed on visors, and the quality and resistance of the paint are analyzed.
We believe deeply in our helmets and in our production system; for this reason, all our importers and retailers have the opportunity to visit our company to see firsthand the processes our products undergo. This experience makes them firsthand observers of our work and testimonials of our values to our customers.
At the end of the cycle, before packaging, an employee is responsible for providing quality approval after inspecting every element of the helmet itself.
